MY DREAM HONEYMOON

It all started when I was 16. I had watched a romantic movie which was about a guy who met a girl and within a few months, they were in front of the altar exchanging their vows. Well, you know the drill; I don't have to spell it out.

10 TIPS ON HOW TO DEAL WITH A DIFFICULT MOTHER-IN-LAW

Ah! The term "mother-in-law" when mentioned, usually sends shivers down the spine. Mothers-in-law are stereotyped as wicked, intrusive, difficult, manipulative and harsh. Yeah, Nollywood has given us a clear picture of how mothers-in-law behave. Mothers-in-law are often portrayed as women who give their daughters-in-law a hard time.

Every woman prays for a peaceful marriage where a man's family accepts and loves her especially his mother. It is obvious that when the mother of your husband loves you, you will enjoy an almost conflict-free marriage. When your mother-in-law cherishes you, she will treat you like her daughter and you will have a peaceful marriage.

WORDS SPEAK AS LOUD AS ACTIONS

In my life, I've come to realize that actions don't necessarily speak louder than words. I've noticed that most times, words are often as loud as actions. People tend to pay more attention to what you say rather than what you do. I'm going to give you a few scenarios that have made me come to this amazing realization.

BEING A BABY MAMA...

I'm not here to preach to you today about how wonderful love is or how perfect a marriage can be. Today's post is dedicated solely to a dear friend. This is sort of an encouragement letter inspired by my friend.

My friend got pregnant several months before her graduation from the University. The guy who was responsible wanted to marry her but along the line, things got complicated and he just disappeared. His disappearance didn't bother my friend at all and she resolved to keep the baby anyway. News about her pregnancy spread like wildfire around the neighborhood. Neighbours started staring at her growing tummy and gossiping about her and her family.

WEDDING BELLS: Franca weds Javis

Hi friends, this is officially the first wedding that I’ll be featuring on my blog. I want to thank the couple immensely for giving me the permission to do this…

   MEET THE BRIDE:

Her name is Franca Anigbere. She is an indigene of Isoko North L.G.A in Delta state. She was born on the 3rd of September.
She is a graduate of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Ebonyi state. She loves cooking, travelling and working for God.
She is smart, beautiful and God fearing. No wonder Prince Charming had to put a ring on that finger. He just couldn’t resist her aura *smiles*.

MEET THE GROOM:

He is lucky. Sorry, just kidding *smiles*. His name is Javis Ighodaro. He hails from Orhionmwon L.G.A in Edo state. He was born on the 18th May. He graduated from Federal Polytechnic, Mubi in Adamawa State.
He loves God and technology. He is the CEO of Javis Graphics. He is charming, honest and jovial. Hmm, I see why miss Franca fell in love with him.

          HOW DID THEY MEET?

They met during their NYSC in 2013. They were both serving in Imo state at the time. One day, Miss Franca was in need of past question papers for her upcoming NIM exam and a fellow corper directed her to him. God bless that corper wherever he is! Well, one thing led to another and they became good friends.

After their service, Javis couldn’t get her out of his mind. In fact, she was haunting him in his dreams. So, he called her and they hooked up. A few months later, he asked her to be the mother of his unborn children. Awww! Isn’t that romantic? I feel like getting married too *sobs*

   THE WEDDING DETAILS:

The wedding is going to take place on April 16th, 2016 in Benin City. The colours of the day are  Red and White. Attendance is strictly by invitation. They want a simple wedding; just family members and close friends.

Sorry wedding crashers! I cannot disclose the venue of the wedding for security reasons but if you were invited, please endeavour to be there and witness the beautiful event.

It is going to be great. Don’t forget to come along with awesome wedding presents. *winks*

TO THE BRIDE AND GROOM:

True love and real commitment are hard to find. But by the Grace of God, you found each other. You knew from day one that you were meant to be together.

I pray that no one will tear you apart and May God bless your marriage with peace, love, happiness and lots of babies *laughs*. Have a blessed married life.

BEING A BETTER STEPMOM...

The wedding bells have suddenly quieted down and all the guests have left. Your honeymoon was an awesome time spent with your honey boo and you wished it would last forever. If wishes were horses! Even the honeymoon is all over and you're home with your cuddlepie... Oh Wait! His kids are here too...

Well, you're not exactly taken by surprise by their presence though. I guess things happened so fast and you didn't expect the sweet moments to be over just yet. You had imagined beautiful scenarios of cooking nice meals for your love and you receiving regular warm massages.

SHOULD YOU FUND YOUR PARTNER'S EDUCATION?

In a society where there are both wealthy and not-so-wealthy people, it is not strange to find some ladies attaching themselves to wealthy men for financial gain. They stick to these men to be financially stable and also to assist their families. Most times, these well-to-do men gain permission from the lady's parents to fund her education and in return the man expects her to marry him. An agreement could also be signed to ensure that promises are kept.
