How can you find real happiness in your relationship? Every day, people buy too much stuff they don’t even need in order to be happy. They get temporarily happy but after a while, they end up unhappy and start searching for ways to find real happiness in their relationship.
Some people waste many hours chasing after happiness…to no avail. They may find excitement or satiation, but TRUE HAPPINESS still eludes them. Even at their places of work and in their relationships, they seem very unhappy.
The bad news is “they’ve been focusing on the wrong things”. They have consistently placed value on irrelevant things and never truly reach that “happiness mountain” they crave.
The good news is happiness is really inexpensive and pretty simple to find, but that doesn’t mean that it comes easily. However, if you’re bold, and truly willing to commit to a few simple steps, you will find real happiness in your relationship.
8 Ways to Find Real Happiness in Your Relationship
1. Quit Complaining:
The first step to finding happiness is to stop trying to find out what’s wrong with the world around you. A lot of people spend their time complaining about things they can’t change instead of working on changing what they can.
There’s plenty to complain about, but if you focus all of your attention there, you’ll never see the good stuff around you. Quit complaining and focus on what you can change.
2. Choose to Live in Love:
Falling in love with the world and the people around you is a sure step towards happiness…and it’s pretty easy. Instead of judging people, criticizing them and trying to change them, simply accept them for who they are, and choose to see the good in them.
Don’t expect it…CHOOSE it… Love unconditionally and receive love when it comes!!!
3. Appreciate Everything:
A lot of us never remember to show gratitude to others even when they’ve been so nice to us. Instead of being grateful and appreciative, we end up grumbling and asking for more. If you want to find happiness, start expressing your gratitude every day.
Remember to tell people “thank you” for the nice things they’ve done for you no matter how little; show genuine gratitude. If you’d like, keep a gratitude journal and write down at least 3 things you’re grateful for every morning. Before long, you’ll have more things to appreciate than you can count.
4. Find your passion and be committed to it:
Most people find themselves unhappy because they are purposeless. They haven’t found their passion or purpose in life so they keep drifting without direction and they often end up depressed.
If you want to be happy, stop following the crowd; create your own path and be determined to succeed. Dare to live your own dream and not your parents’ dream; don’t be afraid to make your own choices. When you do what you love, you won’t need to grumble every single day of your life.
You will find yourself eager to jump out of bed every morning and do what you love.
5. Learn to forgive easily:
A lot of people hurt us everyday but it’s our choice to either forgive them and move on happily or bear grudges for as long as we live.
If you choose not to forgive, you will only end up bitter, resentful and angry. But when you choose to forgive those who offend you, you will feel lighter, happier and full of love.
6. Learn to communicate better:
Communication helps bridge gaps in our relationships. Learning how to communicate effectively with people around you would greatly improve your relationships and your life as a whole. If you’re offended by anyone, approach the person maturely and talk things out.
If you offend anyone, be humble enough to say “I’m sorry”. Instead of sulking or grumbling about something, just say exactly how you feel. Let those around you know what is wrong; sometimes, sharing our problems with others helps to solve them faster.
7. Change your perspective:
Sometimes, finding happiness involves changing our view on things and being positive no matter the situation. You must not have everything in the world for you to be happy.
Be contented with what you have while working towards attaining more. You mustn’t drive the latest Range Rover for you to be truly happy. Don’t listen to what other people have to say about your life; listen to your heart and follow it.
If you dare to see things differently and not just the way society wants you to see it, your life will not remain the same again. You will notice a great improvement!
8. Create your own happy world:
Some people rely on others to make them happy and that’s where they get it all wrong. Nobody knows you the way you know yourself; you’re the only one who has the key to happiness.
Don’t wait on anyone to make you happy; create your own little happy world, surround yourself with things and people who make you happy.
If you’re bored, watch a movie, play games, read a novel or surf the net. Just do what keeps the joy flowing; stop waiting on people to make you happy. Becoming happy may mean “looking like a fool” or changing a lot of your current habits, but I promise you…it is totally worth it!
