I’m assuming you’ve set your relationship goals and now you’re wondering how you can achieve them with all the distractions going on around you.

I’m here to tell you it’s possible to achieve your relationship goals because you’ve done half the work by setting them in the first place.

Before you can go about achieving your relationship goals you have to know why you set them initially. Why do you set goals?

I’m guessing you need something to motivate you to take action on your heart’s desires.

Without setting goals, you’ll be unfocused and unmotivated. You will have desires but you won’t have the motivation to make them a reality.

That’s the simple reason why we set goals; to motivate us to take action.

Now that you know the “why”, you have to know the “how” because without it you’re like a traveler with no map or compass and you’ll find it difficult getting to your destination.

I’m going to give you 5 simple ways you can achieve your relationship goals this year.

How to achieve your relationship goals

#1 Be clear on what you want

The biggest mistake most people make when trying to achieve their goals is not being clear on what they want and that’s the first step to failure.

How do you want to achieve anything when you’re not even clear on what you want?

This year, I want to be closer to my boyfriend and that’s why I set a goal to spend quality time with him.

I’m very clear on what I want to achieve in my relationship and that’s why it would be very easy to take action.

Since I have clear intentions and goals, the next step would be drafting weekly actionable tactics that would help me achieve the big goal.

For instance, I would have to loosen up my schedule a bit to create more free time for “couple time.”

I’ll also have to look for date night ideas I can use at home.

All these little actionable tactics will help me achieve my big goal of getting closer to my partner by spending quality time with him.

So, if you want to achieve your relationship goals, you have to be clear about what you want.

You can’t simply say “Um, I really want to improve my relationship this year.”

That’s totally crazy! That goal is too broad and you won’t be able to achieve anything.

But if you narrow it down to a specific problem and say “I want to improve my intimate life”, you’re going to have a head start because you will have a focus.

Your weekly actionable tips will be to try out new exciting positions, learn how to communicate your needs better and probably try different locations.

All these little tactics will help you achieve your bigger goal of improving your love life. It’s that simple!

Be absolutely clear on what you want to achieve in your relationship this year.

When you’re clear, all other tiny pieces will fall in place. It’s like solving a puzzle!

#2 Visualize your goals

Now, you’ve set your goals and you know exactly what you want but have you seen it in your mind?

If you haven’t, how the heck do you go about achieving them?

When you visualize your goals, you make them more achievable and you know why?

Because you’ve seen them happen in your mind and it’s possible to achieve them.

That thought of possibility is the only thing that will keep you motivated to continue chasing your goals even when you encounter obstacles along the way.

I know it’s incredible to wrap your mind around.

Let’s do a little visualization exercise…

Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. Now, close your eyes and imagine what it would feel like to achieve one relationship goal?

See yourself where you want to be in your relationship a few months from now.

If you want to improve the communication level in your relationship, visualize yourself talking and laughing with your partner for hours without anger or sadness.

Hold on to that feeling and do this exercise at least twice a day preferably before you go to bed and immediately you wake up in the morning.

You’re going to be amazed at the results!

#3 Take necessary actions

This is where most people fail in their quest to achieve their goals.

They set their goals, visualize them and expect them to magically happen on their own.

Visualizing your goals can make them easily achievable but you need to take necessary actions.

If you want to improve your intimate life but you don’t make the required effort, you’re never going to get there.

Many successful relationships become successful because the couples involved work hard to get there.

They didn’t visualize their goals and leave them halfway; they put in the work to make sure they achieve their relationship goals.

If your goal is to get closer to your partner, start researching how to get there.

Find out the resources you need to help you achieve that particular goal then start acting on the information.

When you’ve assembled your tools and resources, don’t try to implement them all at once; you will fail horribly.

Break your goals into daily or weekly actionable tactics that you can easily achieve.

For instance, if your goal is to improve your love life, your weekly goals will have to be trying new positions, incorporating meaningful talk after romantic encounters or exploring with different locations.

You can achieve your big goal faster when you break it down into daily or weekly goals.

#4 Be consistent

This is a major issue most people have when they’re working towards a goal.

They set their goals, start taking action but they are not consistent enough to achieve their goals.

If you want to achieve your relationship goals, you have to be consistent in your daily or weekly actions.

You can’t start working on a particular goal this week and forget about it next week then resume working on it the third week.

You’re inconsistent so you won’t see results. Inconsistency is the key to failure.

Keep working on your goals even if you’re not seeing results yet.

#5 Stay committed

This is another way of saying never ever give up on your goals.

There are going to be days when you will struggle and feel like giving up but don’t; better days are ahead.

There will also be days when you would be filled with excitement and hope.

Don’t give up because you’re facing obstacles on your journey to achieving your goals.

Stay committed, keep doing the work and believe you will achieve everything you desire.

Stay focused and don’t let anything distract you from your goals.

No matter what happens, keep working on those goals. Failure shouldn’t be an option. Giving up shouldn’t be in your vocabulary.

Quitting shouldn’t be a word in your dictionary.

Being successful at anything requires a lot of motivation, hard work, and commitment. Don’t ever give up on your goals!
